Ninja Foodi Cabbage Sausage Soup is a simple 4 ingredient low carb soup that is a snap to throw together in your electric pressure cooker or instant pot.

How to Make Low Carb Cabbage Sausage Soup in a Ninja Foodi
Cris here. The idea for this super simple soup came from our Ninja Foodi Cabbage recipe. I was looking for a way to make use of the left overs from that tried and true side dish and tossed in a pound of browned ground sausage. It was so incredible we now enjoy it as an easy low carb soup all the time!
Below is a video of the cabbage recipe with the sausage added to the leftovers as an alternative way to make this dish.
Notes on Ninja Foodi Cabbage Sausage Soup
- We used ground breakfast sausage in this dish but you can use any ground sausage. Italian sausage might be a great flavor addition.
- We used our6.5 quart Ninja Foodiwith aStainless Steel insertto make this recipe, but you can use any pressure cooker with a stainless steel OR non-stick pot.
- We like our cabbage VERY tender. Your cooking time will depend on your desired texture. We cook under pressure for 8 minutes. If you like a firmer texture, cook for less time.
General Notes
- We’ve tested this recipe in a 6 quart Instant Pot and 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi. When pressure cooking with larger pressure cookers, you may need to add 1/2 cup to 1 cup more liquid to reach pressure. Make sure not to overfill smaller pressure cookers past their max lines.

Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Chicken Broth
- 1 Head of Cabbage sliced, Core Removed
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1“ pound ground sausage browned
Instructions
Place all ingredients into a 6-6.5 quart electric pressure cooker.
Set lid to seal and cook under high pressure for 5-8 minutes depending on tenderness of cabbage desired.
Quick release and serve with a ladle into bowls.

- We used our 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi with a Stainless Steel insert to make this recipe, but you can use any pressure cooker with a stainless steel OR non-stick pot. (Our original recipe was created for Instant Pot Cabbage.)
